The Eastern Michigan Eagles hope to split the season series with Northern Illinois in Saturday MAC action.
Northern Illinois has an outside shot at breaking in to the top four of conference but they likely need to sweep their final three games and get a little help as well. If the Huskies get the scoring we saw in a 74-66 defeat of visiting Toledo on Wednesday we are talking about a dangerous squad. Even though the Huskies hit shots at nearly 46% the defense stole the show by overcoming 18 turnovers and limiting a very dangerous Rockets offense to 41.8%. Travon Baker spearheaded the attack with 17 points with Jordan Threloff adding 13 points and nine boards while Aksel Bolin and Aaron Armstead contributed eleven points apiece.

Eastern Michigan has a top four spot dangling in front of them but of coure reaching out and grabbing is sometimes easier said then done. Things seemed to be slipping away with back to back defeats before the Eagles got back on track with a 64-42 rout of Central Michigan where a five point lead at the half grew and grew over the final 20 minutes. The numbers tell the story with EMU easily winning the shooting battle 43%-24.5% which translated in to nine more field goals. Karrington Ward was the top scoring option with 18 points with Glenn Bryant adding 12 points and five pulls while four players contributed between 6-7 points.
Eastern Michigan is better and has blowout potential at home but this is generally a hard fought game so I'm looking at the points but not real confident...
