The South Florida Bulls make the long trip north to square off with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Saturday.
With just a handful of games left South Florida finds themselves in the bottom half of the AAC with little room to move up or down. The Bulls have struggled to score points and the defense has not been able to win on their own merits. USF certainly had their chances in a 61-56 loss to visiting Connecticut on Wednesday but a lack of scoring left them staring at four consecutive defeats. The Huskies were held to 43% from the field but South Florida couldn't capitalize with under 38% from the field and one double digit scorer. Victor Rudd netted 14 points, grabbed eight boards and handed out five helpers followed by John Egbunu and Chris Perry with eight points each.

Rutgers is in the exact same position as their counterparts with a few games left and very little place to go. A few wins would be nice to build momentum heading in to the conference postseason but that's about it. The Scarlet Knights dropped number four in a row after squandering a double figure lead in a 67-65 defeat at Central Florida. A nine point lead at the break went by the wayside with 44% shooting negated by 17 turnovers that opened the door for the 39% accuracy of the Knights. Myles Mack led a trio of double digit scorers with 19 points followed by Junior Etou and Kadeem Jack with 14 and 12 points along with nine rebounds apiece.
Rutgers has done well against the lower half of the conference but laying points doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. I do feel the potential to cover is the Scarlet Knights but I still hate the chalk...
