The Utah State Aggies will play their last road game of the season when they visit the San Jose State Spartans Saturday night. These teams played back in early January, and the Aggies won 86-75.
Since then it’s been all downhill for the Aggies, as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games and four in a row. Just in their last five games alone, they’re averaging 62.4 points on 40.8 percent shooting and allowing 68.2 points on 43.3 percent shooting. For one of the best shooting teams in the Mountain West, they’re struggling to put the ball in the hoop as of late. Road games have been no different, as they’re averaging 62.1 points and allowing 67.3 points away from home. They are 14-11-1 ATS overall and 6-6 ATS on the road.

The Spartans return home from a two-game road trip and have lost 14 of their last 15 games. They shoot just 37.9 percent from the field on the season and average 63.2 points. They’ve scored less than 65 points in 10 of their last 11 games. Defensively, they allow 71.7 points on 43.4 percent shooting. At home they average 59 points and allow 64.8 points. They are 10-14-1 ATS overall and 3-5-1 ATS at home.
Utah State has got to come out of its funk eventually and there’s no better time than against a team that can’t put the ball in the basket. If those shots are falling, this game won’t even be close, similar to how the first meeting went down.
The Aggies have dominated this series SU and have covered the spread in four of their last five meetings against the Spartans. Meanwhile, San Jose State is 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Give me the road team and the chalk, please.
