The Western Michigan Broncos lock horns with the Toledo Rockets at Savage Hall with first in the MAC on the line.
A little bit of scoring and a little bit of defense applied at the right time can take a team far and for Western Michigan it's given them first in the MAC by a game. The Broncos are riding an eight game winning streak although number eight was far more difficult then expected with last place Ball State taking WMU to overtime before falling 88-81. Mistakes killed the Cardinals with 16 giveaways negating 47% marksmanship and iving the visitors to many opportunites which they eventually cashed in. WMU was a three pronged attack with Shayne Whittington, David Brown and Connar Tava accounting for all but 12 points.

Toledo has looked like the team to beat in the MAC for the majority of the season with the best offense in the conference doing the talking but in a 74-66 defeat at Northern Illinois the scoring wasn't there with the Huskies able to slow things down. The Rockets were outshot 46%-42% and even 18 NIU giveaways wasn't enough with the home team owning the charity stripe 25-17. Rian Pearson tried to shoulder the offense as he exploded for 27 points and nine rebounds with Julius Brown and JD Weatherspoon adding 13 and eleven points with Weatherspoon nabbing seven boards while Justin Drummond chipped in with nine.
This is for first place in the MAC so my thinking is this should be nip and tuck throughout and if Western Michigan is deserving then give me the points...
