The top seed Green Bay Phoenix travel to face the Detroit Titans to end the regular season Saturday.
The most team in the Horizon have rode strong performances at both ends of the floor to first in the Horizon. Fittingly Green Bay called upon both units to upend Oakland 71-63 on the road to clinch the top spot on Thursday. The Phoenix trailed by 13 after 20 minutes before exerting themselves in the second with 58% accuracy overcoming the Golden Grizzlies 46% from the field in a mistake filled contest where both teams combined for 38 turnovers. Alec Brown gave Green Bay 18 points with the tandem of Keifer Sykes and Jordan Fouse tossing in 16 points each while Alphonzo McKinnie scored ten off the bench.

The Horizon is a conference where surprises are a daily thing and even though Milwaukee's 68-62 isn't earth shattering it seemed unexpected the way this team had been playing. The Panthers were up six before Detroit tied it in the second half but the collapse many probably expected never came. Milwaukee's 55% shooting simply overcame 17 giveaways while the defense held the Titans to 37% from the floor which negated their 12 extra looks. JeVon Lyle led all scorers with 20 points followed by a combined 21 points and ten boards from Kyle Kelm and Austin Arians with Steve McWhorter chipping in with nine points, five yanks and eight helpers.
If there was something to play for I would be all over Green Bay but the Horizon belongs to them. Perhaps pride and a need to compete is enough but who knows...
