The Canisius Golden Griffins have won four of their last five games but earlier losses to Iona and Manhattan are what stood between them and the MAAC Championship. Canisius is 14-5 in the MAAC and 11-7 away from home his season. Billy Baron leads the Golden Griffins averaging 24.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. Chris Perez is averaging 12.4 points, Jordan Heath is averaging 10.6 points and 5.4 rebounds, and Zach Lewis is averaging 9.7 points. Canisius is averaging 78.5 points and they are shooting 46 percent while defensively they are allowing 75 points and their opponents are shooting 44.6 percent. Canisius is will have a chance to show they belong in the Big Dance this week in the MAAC Tournament.
Manhattan is 3-7-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 9-4-2 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, and 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 home games against a team with a winning road record. Canisius is 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games, 10-4 against the spread following a win, and 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games against a team with a winning home record. The underdog is 11-5-1 against the spread in the last 17 meetings of these two.
The line here looks to be a little too generous so I am going to go with the road dog to avoid the season sweep.
