The Arkansas State Red Wolves look to solidify their spot in the standings when Georgia State visits.
Not many teams go in to the final weeks of the regular season carefree but Georgia State has wrapped up the Sun Belt and is probably eager to get the conference playoffs underway. The wins are still piling up with number five in a row coming via 66-55 decision at Texas State on Saturday. The Panthers turned up the heat at the defensive end by limiting the home squad to a mere 34% from the floor which made their own 44.7% accuracy decisive. RJ Hunter led all scorers with 18 points and eight boards with Ryan Harrow netting 14 followed by Manny Atkins and Devonts White with 13 points and five yanks apiece.

Arkansas State controls their fate in a way in a sweep of the remaining three games guarantees them no lower then fourth. The Red Wolves missed out on an oppoortunity to stabilize their positioning versus Arkansas-Little Rock when a three game winning streak came to an end in a 74-67 road loss where a four point lead at the break disappeared. The Trojans 46%-40% shooting advantage proved to be the difference as it added up six more makes from the field. Cameron Golden paced a trio of double digit scorers with 15 points while Brandon Reed tossed in 13 followed by the duo of Kendrick Washington and Kirk Van Slyke with 20 points with Van Slyke grabbing six boards.
Georgia State is clearly the better team but Arkansas State has more to play for with the Panthers having wrapped up the conference. I am backing the Red Wolves although I wouldn't rush out and bet the house on them...
