The Creighton Bluejays look to remain in the first place race as they visit the Georgetown Hoyas Tuesday night at 7PM on Fox Sports One.
Creighton looks to bounce back after a rare loss during conference play -- the Bluejays were defeated at Xavier this past weekend 75-69. Doug McDermott led all scorers with 27 and 10 but the Musketeers rattled the rest of the Bluejay roster and held Creighton below 40% from the field and below 30% from deep. Creighton lost the battle on the boards and their usually solid output of 17 assists was somewhat negated by their 15 turnovers -- a very high number for one of the country’s most efficient teams. The loss drops the Bluejays to 13-3 in conference play.

Georgetown continues to float around .500 in conference play and are fresh off a Thursday night loss at Marquette that really hurt their chances of earning a post season birth. The Hoyas battled hard but trailed most of the game and saw a last second runner fall short as Marquette escaped with the win. The Hoyas got 59 total points from Jabril Trawick, Starks and Smith-Rivera but got minimal contributions elsewhere -- something that has plagued the Hoyas throughout the season. Georgetown committed 26 fouls and were carved up defensively as Marquette tallied a season high 20 team assists.
It is make or break time for Georgetown and while their resume is solid, they have continued to lack an identity all season. Creighton rarely loses two in a row and I expect nothing to be different here as the Bluejays use the long ball and overall superiority of Doug McDermott to wear down Georgetown. Creighton by 10 with the cover and win on the road.
