The Line: George Washington Colonials -3.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The St. Joseph’s Hawks will clash with the George Washington Colonials in what will be an underrated Wednesday college basketball game.
The Hawks have won six straight games and have emerged as one of the better teams in the Atlantic 10. During this impressive winning streak, they’re averaging 76.2 points on 53 percent shooting and are allowing 63.4 points on 38.2 percent shooting. They’ve scored at least 79 points in three straight games and have allowed less than 70 points in seven of their last nine games. On the road, they average 72.6 points and allow 68.9 points. They are 14-9-1 ATS overall and 8-4 ATS on the road.

The Colonials have fallen off a cliff lately, losing three of their last five games and taking a backseat in the conference standings. During their shaky stretch, they’re averaging 66.8 points on 40.8 percent shooting and are allowing 69.6 points on 45.3 percent shooting. All of those numbers are far worse than what their season averages show. At home, they average 78.1 points and allow 61.9 points. They are 15-8 ATS overall and 6-3 ATS at home.
It’s to figure out exactly which George Washington team is going to show up. The Colonials have lost to all of the better teams in the Atlantic 10, including Saint Louis, UMass and VCU. The only team that’s missing is St. Joseph’s. That’s why I’m taking the Hawks and the points.
The Hawks have been a lot more consistent and are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. They’re also 4-1 ATS in their last five games against George Washington.
The Colonials are still one of the best teams in the conference, but it’s always better to side with the points when expecting a close game.
However, don’t be surprised if the Hawks win outright.
