The Duke Blue Devils travel to Wake Forest to play the Demon Deacons on Wednesday night.
The Duke Blue Devils improved to 23-6, 12-4 ACC after beating Virginia Tech 66-48 last week. On the season, Jabari Parker leads the Blue Devils with 18.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Rodney Hood is averaging a solid 16.3 points per game, while Quinn Cook is averaging a team-high 4.5 assists per game. Amile Jefferson is averaging 7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game and has really helped Duke improve their rebounding numbers as the year has gone on. The Blue Devils are averaging an impressive 79.6 points per game while shooting 46.5% from the field as a team this season. Duke’s biggest weakness early on was the lack of size in the front court and their inability to rebound the basketball. What was once their weakness has become somewhat of a strength recently as they have outrebounded several of their conference opponents. The Blue Devils will hit the road for the last time in conference play; Duke is only 4-4 on the road against conference opponents this season.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons dropped to 15-14, 5-11 ACC after losing at home against Boston College 80-72 on Saturday. On the season, Codi Miller-McIntyre is leading the Demon Deacons in scoring and assists, averaging 13.4 points and 4 assists per game. Devin Thomas is averaging 11.2 points per game along with a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game. Wake Forest is averaging 69.8 points per game while shooting 44.9% from the field as a team this season. The Demon Deacons are a good rebounding team, averaging 35.9 boards per contest. Wake Forest had lost seven straight games before earning a win last week, but they got right back to losing on Saturday. The Demon Deacons will stay at home for another conference game; Wake Forest is 2-4 in their last 6 conference home games.
Duke beat Wake Forest by 20 points at home back on February 4th and I don’t think the outcome will change in this one. The Blue Devils will have had a week off before this game and I think they will blow the Demon Deacons out on Wednesday night.
