The Wisconsin Badgers and the Purdue Boilermakers face off on Wednesday in Madison in Big Ten college basketball.
The Wisconsin Badgers have won seven games in a row and they are in second place in the Big Ten standings. Wisconsin is 13-3 at home this season, 11-5 in the Big 10, and ranked ninth the nation. Sam Dekker leads the Badgers averaging 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Frank Kaminsky is averaging 13 points and 6.3 rebounds, Ben Brust is averaging 12.6 points, and Traevon Jackson is averaging 10.8 points. Wisconsin is averaging 73.3 points and they are shooting 45.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 63.6 points and their opponents are shooting 42.8 percent. Wisconsin has huge out of conference wins and should be looking at a two or three seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Purdue Boilermakers have lost four games in a row and are just 2-9 in their last 11 games as their season has simply slipped away from them. Purdue is 5-11 in the Big Ten and 3-10 away from home this season. Terone Johnson leads the Boilermakers averaging 12.1 points per game. Ronnie Johnson is averaging 11 points, A.J. Hammons is averaging 10.6 points and 7.4 rebounds, and Kendall Stephens is averaging 8.0 points. Purdue is averaging 73 points and they are shooting 42.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.7 points and their opponents are shooting 42 percent. Purdue lost by 14 earlier this season at home to Wisconsin.
Wisconsin is 1-5 against the spread in their last five home games and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games against a team with a losing road record. Purdue is 7-18-1- against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread and 16-5 against the spread in their last 21 Wednesday games. The underdog has covered the point spread in 10 of the last 14 meetings of these two.
My free pick in this one will be on the total and 138.5 appears to be high but I still like the over though it is just a lean. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as the App.
