The Tulsa Golden Hurricanes look to keep the ball rolling heading into the C-USA Tournament with a road victory over the North Texas Mean Green. These teams met on February 1, and Tulsa won 94-63.
The Golden Hurricanes have now won seven straight games are looking like a dangerous team once the tournament starts. In their last five matchups, they’re averaging 72.2 points on 45.1 percent shooting and are allowing 56.8 points on 35.9 percent shooting. Those defensive numbers are a significant improvement from their season averages of 72.7 points and 43.6 percent shooting. On the road, they average 73.6 points and allow 72.9 points. They are 18-8 ATS overall and 10-5 ATS on the road.

The Mean Green are finishing the season strong, winning four of their last five games, but are coming off a 20-point home loss to UTEP. During this stretch, they’re averaging 64.2 points on 41.7 percent shooting and are allowing 65.2 points on 46 percent shooting. It’s important to note that those four victories came against bottom feeders in the conference. At home, the Mean Green averages 66.2 points and gives up 69.3 points. They are 11-10-1 ATS overall and 1-6-1 ATS on their home court.
Although North Texas is playing with a little more confidence, victories against FIU, FAU and UTSA aren’t the same as competing with Tulsa. The Mean Green are overmatched in this one, and you can expect another blowout with the Golden Hurricanes looking to lockup a top seed in the conference tourney.
Tulsa is 6-0 ATS in its last six road games, while the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these two teams.
I’ll gladly take the Golden Hurricanes and the chalk in this one.
