The Monmouth Hawks have lost 10 of their last 11 games to close out the season finishing ninth in the MAAC. Monmouth is 5-15 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and 3-12 in games played away from home. Deon Jones leads the Hawks averaging 15 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Andrew Nicholas is averaging 14.4 points, Josh James is averaging 8.3 points, and Justin Robinson is averaging 7.1 points. Monmouth is averaging 69.3 points and they are shooting 41.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 73.1 points and their opponents are shooting 43.9 percent. Monmouth did get a win over Canisius this year that has been the highlight.
Rider is 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games, 1-5-1 against the spread following a loss, and 13-6 against the spread in their last 19 neutral site games. Monmouth is 4-1 against the spread in their last five neutral site games, 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games, and 1-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record.
Rider is a small favorite here and I am willing to lay the points but I am wary of laying too many if there is any kind of line movement.
