The Dartmouth Big Green and Brown Bears will meet Friday night to play their second Ivy League matchup this season. These teams met on February 8, and Brown won 75-62.
The Big Green just snapped a seven-game losing streak with an 87-78 win over Cornell on Saturday. Still, one of the better defenses in the Ivy League has been slipping the last week or so, allowing 74.4 points on 48.2 percent shooting in their last five games. This is a defense that allows just 67.8 points on the season. On the road, the Big Green average 61.5 points and allow 66.4 points. They are 5-11-1 ATS overall and 2-7 ATS on the road.

The Bears continue their streak of inconsistency in the second half of the season, splitting their last eight games. In their last five matchups, they’re averaging 70.2 points on 42.8 percent shooting and are allowing 67.2 points on 41.2 percent shooting. Give or take a couple of points here or there, those numbers are consistent with their season averages. The Bears are 13-0 SU when scoring at least 70 points this season. At home, they average 69.4 points and allow 63.7 points. They are 10-5-1 ATS overall and 3-2-1 ATS at home.
Backing the Big Green at any point in the season has just been a big mistake all year, and that isn’t about to change. The Bears are clearly the better team in this matchup and they’ve covered eight of their last 11 games. When the Bears aren’t winning by a comfortable margin, their last three losses have been decided by five or less points.
Brown is the much more competitive team and will be playing its first home game in nearly a month.
Back the Bears and the chalk in this one.
