The Charleston Southern Buccaneers look to take down Coastal Carolina in the Big South quarterfinals.
Coastal Carolina always seems to be hanging aroung near the top of the conference and 2013-14 was no exception with the Chanticleers finishing tied for second just one game behind High Point. CC has numbers that say they outscored opponents 73-69 but generally exceeded those numbers which essentially made this one of the more balanced teams in the Big South. My gut says points might be needed versus Charleston Southern Friday and that has me looking at Elijah Wilson (16 ppg) with Warren Gillis and Josh Cameron combining for around 28 points to help even out the scoring load.

Charleston Southern got by Campbell 81-71 in a Big South opener in what was a tale of two halves. The first half was ugly with the Fighting Camels leading 42-33 andlooking unstoppable however, the final 20 minutes was all Buccaneers who went on a 48-29 run to win going away. One of the bigger offenses in the conference needed this unit to come through and it did with 47% shooting and with the defense awakening in the second half and a +15 margin on the backboards this near scare turned out just fine. Arlon Harper led all scorers with 20 points and six boards followed by an 18 point, six pull effort from Will Saunders while Sheldon Strickland and Matt Kennedy tossed in 14 and 13 points.
I don't think there is a world of difference between these teams with Charleston better offensively with Coastal getting the nod defensively. If I'm right the points are the way to go...
