The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks tangle with the Hofstra Pride in the CAA play in game.
You know a team is in trouble when their only conference victories come in the final weeks of the season which describes the Seahawks who finished at the bottom of the CAA with a 3-13 record. This team wasn't awful defensively at 69 points allowed but that was really immaterial with only 62 points scored which explains their struggles. If UNCW is going to do anything in the playoffs points will need to be put on the scoreboard but Cedrick Williams was the only double digit scorer at around 12 points so the question is will somebody step up and help with the scoring load.

Hofstra made out a bit better then their counterparts with five victories and several close calls mixed in so the argument this team was a bit better then their record. We could also say we are splitting hairs if we believe that but the Pride did go through stretches where they looked great only to eventually fall apart in one area. The key to advancing in the conference playoffs is getting both ends of the floor in harmony because neither will win on their own merits. I don't know what the defense will do but there is quality scoring potential with Zeke Upshaw (19.6 ppg) and Dion Nesmith (13 ppg) heading the offense.
Hofstra won both meetings this season but I can't read too much in to that although one was their lone victory. The Pride are 14-9-3 ATS so maybe they get another...
