The Cal Golden Bears and the Colorado Buffaloes face off on Saturday at Haas Pavilion in Pac-12 college basketball.
The Cal Golden Bears have lost their last three games as they have watched their NCAA Tournament hopes slip away. Cal is 12-4 at home and they are 9-8 in Pac-12 play. Justin Cobbs leads the Bears averaging 15.4 points and 5.8 assists per game. Tyrone Wallace is averaging 11.5 points, David Kravish is averaging 11.2 points and 7.6 rebounds, and Richard Solomon is averaging 11.1 points and 10.0 rebounds. California is averaging 73.1 points and they are shooting 45.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 70 points and their opponents are shooting 41.9 percent. Cal has a RPI and schedule strength that could have gotten them into March Madness but the recent losses may be too much to recover from.

The Colorado Buffaloes have won six of their last nine games to sit somewhere around the bubble of making the field of the NCAA Tournament. Colorado is 10-7 in the Pac-12 and 5-7 in games played away from home. Josh Scott is averaging 14.7 points per game 8.7 rebounds to lead the Buffaloes. Askia Booker is averaging 13.8 points, Xavier Johnson is averaging 11.8 points and 6.0 rebounds, and Wesley Gordon is averaging 6.0 points and 6.1 rebounds. Colorado is averaging 72.8 points and they are shooting 44.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 69 points and their opponents are shooting 43.2 percent. Colorado is coming off of a huge win at Stanford.
Cal is 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games, 0-4 against the spread following a loss, and 0-5 against the spread in their last five games. Colorado is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games following a game that they covered the spread and 8-18 against the spread in their last 26 Saturday games. The home team has covered the spread in seven of the last 10 meetings of these two.
Cal is sputtering and this is a must win for the Buffaloes and I look for them to at the very least cover the number.
