The Line: Miami (Ohio) RedHawks +2 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Ohio Bobcats and Miami of Ohio RedHawks will play one final regular season game before heading into the conference tournament. When these teams met back on February 8, the Bobcats won 82-75.
The Bobcats are experiencing their worst stretch of the season, losing three of their last five games. During this stretch, they’re averaging 65.2 points on 47.5 percent shooting and are allowing 65.6 points on 42.5 percent shooting. They’re one of the best defensive teams in the MAC, but they’ve allowed 70 or more points in seven of their last 10 games. On the road, they average 67.8 points and give up 66.2 points. They are 12-12 ATS overall and 8-3 ATS on the road.
After losing five straight, the RedHawks have won three of their last four games. During this stretch, they’re averaging 62.2 points on 43 percent shooting and are allowing 65.4 points on 44.6 percent shooting. They’re one of the worst shooting teams in the conference, but they’re knocking down 37.3 percent from beyond the arc in their last five games. Defensively, they’ve held teams to 61 or fewer points in three of their last four matchups. At home, they average 69.4 points and allow 70.3 points. They are 15-11 ATS overall and 6-5 ATS at home.
With the line being as low as it is, I don’t see any reason not to back the Bobcats in this one. They are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games, have covered the number in five of their last six meetings against the RedHawks, and the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last four matchups between these two teams.
Sure, the RedHawks have won a few games, but two of those three wins came against Bowling Green and Kent State, two of the worst teams in their division.
Give me Ohio and the chalk.
