The UNLV Rebels will visit the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday night in their last regular season game. When these teams played on January 8, the Wolf Pack won 74-71.
The Rebels need this win badly to gain a little confidence heading into the MWC tournament, as they’ve lost three of their last five games. During that stretch, they’re averaging 76.2 points on 44.5 percent shooting and are allowing 73.8 points on 43.4 percent shooting. Neither side of the ball has been all that consistent during this shaky stretch. However, they continue to be road warriors, as they average 73.5 points and allow 65.8 points. They are 18-11-1 ATS overall and 9-2 ATS on the road.
The Wolf Pack have won two of their last three games and are coming off an impressive road win over Boise State in double-overtime. In both wins, their offense was clicking, although that hasn’t been the case for much of the season. On the year, the Wolf Pack average 72.6 points on 43.7 percent shooting and allow 73.9 points on 44.2 percent shooting. They also shoot just 65.6 percent from the free throw line. At home, the Wolf Pack score 69.9 points and give up 70 points. They are 15-14 ATS overall and 5-9 ATS at home.
All of these numbers are cool and all, but there’s really only one number that matters in this game. The Rebels are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 road games. With a number like that, it’s impossible to go against UNLV in this matchup.
But if you need any further proof UNLV will get the cover, Nevada is just 2-6 ATS in its last eight games overall and just 1-4 ATS in its last five games against teams with a winning SU record.
This is a complete mismatch and with the game being a pick'em, UNLV is an absolute steal.
