The Davidson Wildcats won on Saturday beating Samford for their 13th win a row. Davison is 16-1 in the SoCon, 12-7 in games played away from home, and they finished in first pace in the regular season SoCon standings. De’Mon Brooks leads the Wildcats averaging 18.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Brian Sullivan is averaging 13.3 points, Tyler Kolinoski is averaging 10.7 points, and Tom Droney is averaging 10.3 points. Davidson is averaging 78 points and they are shooting 47.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.6 points and their opponents are shooting 46.3 percent. Davidson is clearly the team to beat in the SoCon Tournament.

The Western Carolina Catamounts knocked off Elon 66-64 on Saturday in an upset to advance to this game. WCU is 7-12 away from home and 11-6 in SoCon play. Trey Sumler leads the Catamounts averaging 17.4 points per game. Brandon Boggs is averaging 12.1 points, James Sinclair is averaging 11.5 points, and Tom Tankelewicz is averaging 9.2 points. Western Carolina is averaging 74.1 points and they are shooting 42.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 72.4 points and their opponents are shooting 44.7 percent. WCU finished in a tie for fourth in the SoCon this year.
Davidson is 4-0 against the spread against the SoCon, 5-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 4-0 against the spread following a win. Western Carolina is 2-7 against the spread following a win and 1-4 against he spread against a team with a winning percentage over .600. The underdog has covered the point spread in six of the last eight meetings of these two.
Davidson is the better option here but the big ine makes it a little less playable.
