The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets play the Clemson Tigers in the 2nd round of the ACC tournament on Thursday.
Georgia Tech beat Boston College 73-70 in the 1st round of the ACC tournament on Wednesday night. On the year, the Yellow Jackets have been led by Trae Golden. Golden is averaging a team-high 12.9 points and 3.1 assists per game for Georgia Tech. Marcus Georges-Hunt is averaging 11.6 points per game, while Daniel Miller is averaging 7.9 rebounds per contest. The Yellow Jackets are shooting 43.4% from the field while averaging 66.5 points per game as a team this season. Georgia Tech is a good rebounding team, averaging 35.8 boards per game. The Yellow Jackets have been inconsistent all year, having bounced back after just losing four straight games for the first time this year, and finally winning three games in a row in conference play over the past week. Georgia Tech is 3-6 on the road in conference play and 1-2 on neutral courts this season.

The Clemson Tigers dropped to 19-11, 10-8 ACC after losing their final game of the regular season to Pittsburgh at home 83-78 in overtime. On the season, K.J. Daniels leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Daniels is a highlight waiting to happen on any play and he is a legit playmaker for this Clemson squad. Rod Hall is averaging a second-best 9.6 points per game while averaging a team-high 4 assists per game. The Tigers are averaging only 63.2 points per game while shooting only 41.7% from the field as a team this season. Clemson is one of the better rebounding teams in the ACC, but they are terrible at distributing the basketball on the offensive end of the floor. The Tigers had won four of their last five games after losing three straight in the middle of February before losing to Pittsburgh last weekend. Clemson went 4-4 on the road in conference play and 2-1 on neutral floors this season.
Clemson will make it tough for Georgia Tech to score in this one and that’s why I’m backing the Tigers on Thursday.
