The Utah Valley Wolverines open the WAC tourney with the Texas-Pan American Broncs.
Consistency was the name of the game for Utah Valley who finished atop the WAC with a 13-3 record. Certainly not a big offense at 67 points but they were bigger at the defensive end with 65 points allowed. If you look at the Wolverines schedule most of their games were fairly close with few blowouts. You will also see the offense and defense seemed to pick one another up when one or the other was struggling. I don't expect UVU to change what they have been doing but if the D is performing their score by committee attack has to sink shots and leading scorer Holton Hunsaker (13 ppg) has to shoot better then 32%.

The WAC isn't loaded with many big programs any longer and Texas-Pan American isn't on the tip of the tongues of the average college basketball fan. The Bronc finished in a three way tie for last in the conference at 5-11 mainly because of their problems generating offense as they were outscored 70-66 and many times failed to score in the mid 60's. Sometimes the team played above their numbers and sometimes below but their defense has usually put forth winning efforts and needs to to succeed in the playoffs which means Javorn Farrell (16 ppg) and two other DD scorers have to give the defense some points to work with.
The Wolverines don't win big and the Broncs have lost big and dropped close ones so in many ways this feels like a guess. I'm just going with the first place club and we'll see if they are any good...
