The Line: Dayton Flyers +1 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Dayton Flyers and St. Joseph’s Hawks will square off Friday afternoon in an Atlantic 10 quarterfinal matchup. The Hawks swept the season series.

The Flyers reached this game by beating Fordham 87-74 on Thursday. In the win, they shot 58.8 percent from the field, held the Rams to 36.4 percent shooting and grabbed 37 rebounds. While three of their starters scored in the double figures, it was actually Vee Sanford who led the way with 23 points off the bench. On the season, the Flyers average 73.6 points on 46.6 percent shooting and allow 67.6 points on 44 percent shooting. They are 17-11 ATS overall.

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks will play their first game in five days and hope to bounce back from ending the season with two losses. On the season, they average 71.7 points on 47 percent shooting and allow 67.8 points on 42.4 percent shooting. While they have four players who average 10 or more points, senior guard Langston Galloway leads the way with 17 points and 4.5 rebounds. Their weakness offensively would be their 64.4 percent free throw shooting. Defensively, they’ve allowed 70-plus points in four of their last five games. They are 14-11-1 ATS overall.

The Flyers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games and 5-1 ATS in their last six against teams with a winning SU record. The Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last five following a SU loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five against teams with a winning SU record. The Flyers are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings against the Hawks.

Besides that one blowout loss in February, five of the last seven meetings between these teams have been decided by six or less points. With the way Dayton has played lately, it wouldn’t be surprising if it won this game SU.

With that being said, I’ll gladly take the Flyers and the point.
