The Colonials head into this matchup winning four of their last five games of the regular season. On the year, they’re averaging 73.6 points on 46.3 percent shooting and are allowing 66.3 points on 41.1 percent shooting. They have four active players averaging in the double figures, shoot 36.5 percent from downtown, but their weakness would be their 65.6 percent free throw shooting. They’ve only allowed one 70-point performance in their last six games. They are 16-9 ATS overall.
The Minutemen are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five conference games and the Colonials are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS loss. However, the Minutemen are 14-5 ATS in the last 19 meetings against George Washington.
This is going to be a fun game to watch.
But considering UMass has won three of the last four meetings SU and is taking better care of the basketball as of late, I have to take the Minutemen and the point.
This is a team that’s flying high with confidence and is peaking at the right time.
