The Syracuse Orange improved to 27-4, 14-4 ACC after beating Florida State on the road 74-58 on Sunday to end the regular season. On the season, C.J. Fair leads the Orange with 16.9 points per game while also averaging 6.2 rebounds per contest. Trevor Cooney is averaging a second-best 12.5 points per game, while Tyler Ennis is averaging 12.4 points per game and a team-high 5.5 assists per game. If Syracuse is going to make a run in the conference and/or the NCAA tournament they will bed Jerami Grant, who has been dealing with a back injury, to stay healthy. Grant is averaging 12 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season. The Orange are shooting 44.1% from the field while averaging 68.3 points per game as a team this season. Syracuse is a decent rebounding team, averaging 35.2 boards per game. Syracuse had lost two straight games and four of their last five games in conference play before bouncing back against Florida State on Sunday. The Orange went an impressive 7-2 on the road in conference play and 3-0 on neutral courts this season.
Syracuse struggled at the end of the season, but I think they will be well rested and focused for the ACC tournament. North Carolina State has a good history in the conference tournament, but I don’t think this years team has the talent. The Orange win and cover in the quarterfinals.
