The MEAC championship is on the line when the North Carolina Central Eagles and the Morgan State Bears clash.
North Carolina Central blew open a competitve contest with a dominant second half performance at both ends of the floor in routing Norfolk State 68-45 Friday. Both teams connected in the 40%-41% range but the Eagles mustered 13 more looks on 14 forced turnovers and 14 offensive rebounds. A 20-8 edge at the stripe and extra shots were decisive as top ranked NCCU used four double digit scorers to outgun the Spartans. Jeremy Ingram and Jordan Parks scored 14 points each with 14 boards while Emanuel Chapman and Karamo Jawara added 13 and eleven points.

A strong opening half led Morgan State to the MEAC title game following a 79-64 rout of Coppin State Friday. The Bears fired away at 47% while holding the Eagles to only 34% which was a deciding factor that accounted for ten more field goals. Justin Black was the offensive star as he exploded for 30 points and seven pulls followed by an 18 point, eleven board effort from Ian Chiles while Anthony Hubbard added 12 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Overall eight players found the scoring column although Morgan State didn't empty the benches until late.
North Carolina Central was the 900 pound gorilla of the MEAC during the regular season and has been impressive in the playoffs. This will be a big line but it will still be hard to go against the Eagles...I hope Central wins big but I think the line has little value.
