The Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers and Albany Great Danes will play Tuesday night in a NCAA tournament play-in game. The Mountaineers won the NEC tournament with a win over Robert Morris, while the Great Danes won the America East with a win over Stony Brook.
The Mountaineers are a fast paced offensive team that has three players averaging in the double figures. Seniors Rashad Whack and Julian Norfleet lead the way with an average of 17 points per game apiece. As a team, Mt. St. Mary's shoot 44.1 percent from the field, 74.1 percent from the free throw line and average 76.2 points. Defensively MSM allow 78 points on 49.3 percent shooting. Mount Saint Mary's allowed at least 71 points in seven of their last eight games. They are 3-2 ATS overall.

The Great Danes butter their bread on defense, as they hold teams to 63.8 points on 41.9 percent shooting. Albany allowed only one team in their last seven games to top 70 points. Offensively, Albany are led by sophomore guard Peter Hooley, who averages 15.7 points and 2.6 assists. As a team, Albany shoots 43.9 percent from the field, 74.8 percent from the free throw line and average 66 points per game. Albany are 3-0 ATS on the season.
The Mountaineers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Great Danes are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 neutral site games.
While the Mountaineers score a ton of points, defense usually wins in tournament games. That's why I'm rolling with the Great Danes in this one, as they'll control the pace of the game and should be able to cover the small chalk late in the second half.
