The Virginia Cavaliers play the Duke Blue Devils in the championship game of the ACC tournament on Sunday afternoon.
The Virginia Cavaliers defeated Pittsburgh 51-48 in the semifinals of the ACC tournament yesterday. On the season, Malcolm Brogdon is averaging a team-high 12.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. Joe Harris is averaging a second-best 11.4 points per game, while Akil Mitchell is averaging a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. The Cavaliers are shooting 45.1% from the field while averaging 66.3 points per game as a team this season. Virginia is a good rebounding team, averaging 35.9 boards per game. The Cavaliers were on a roll as they had won thirteen straight games, all in conference play, before losing to Maryland to end the regular season. Virginia secured their first outright ACC regular-season championship in 33 years with the win over Syracuse last week. Virginia went a solid 7-2 on the road in conference play and now 5-1 on neutral courts this season.

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the North Carolina State Wolfpack yesterday to move on to the championship game on Sunday. On the season, Jabari Parker leads the Blue Devils with 19.2 points and 9 rebounds per game. Rodney Hood is averaging a solid 16.5 points per game; while Quinn Cook is averaging a team-high 4.5 assists per game. Amile Jefferson is averaging 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game and has really helped Duke improve their rebounding numbers as the year has gone on. The Blue Devils are averaging an impressive 79.8 points per game while shooting 46.5% from the field as a team this season. Duke has won three straight after losing two games over the past month. The Blue Devils finished a lousy 4-5 on the road in conference play and are now 5-2 on neutral courts during the season.
Virginia has been playing great basketball for over two months now and I think they would like to avenge their four-point loss to Duke earlier in the season. Duke has played well in the tournament thus far, but I think the Cavaliers have what it takes to beat the Blue Devils in the championship game.
