The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Indiana State Sycamores face off on Tuesday in a first round NIT game.
The Arkansas Razorbacks looked like they were playing themselves into the NCAA Tournament but a loss to Alabama t o close out the season and a loss to South Carolina in the SEC Tournament has them on the outside looking in at the Big Dance and in this spot in the NIT. Arkansas is 11-3 in non-conference games and 8-8 against teams with a RPI of 100 or better. Rashad Madden leads the Razorbacks in scoring averaging 12.7 points per game. Bobby Portis is averaging 12.4 points and 6.5 rebounds, Michael Qualls is averaging 11.8 points, and Coty Clarke is averaging 9.7 points and 5.8 rebounds. Arkansas is averaging 80.3 points and they are shooting 44.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.2 points and their opponents are shooting 40.6 percent. Arkansas had a big win over a ranked Kentucky team but the bad losses in the end were their undoing.

The Indiana State Sycamores finished in second place in the MVC and also made it to the MVC Tournament Final but unfortunately the way it worked out ISU was just an opponent for Wichita State who simply was the class of the conference this year. Jake Odum leads the Sycamores averaging 13.2 points per game. Khristian Smith is averaging 10.5 points, Manny Arop is averaging 10.8 points, and Justin Grant is averaging 10.2 points. Indiana State is averaging 71.1 points and they are shooting 45.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.8 points and their opponents are shooting 43.5 percent. Indiana State lost four of their last six games.
Arkansas is 6-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 17-8 against the spread in their last 25 home games, and 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 non-conference games. Indiana State is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games, and 0-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The total in this one seems a bit high and I like the under.
I also have a strong pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
