The Missouri State Bears kick off the CIT when the Murray State Racers visits JQH Arena.
All things considered, Missouri State had a solid campaign with a 10-10 finish in the MVC which was good for 4th. A loss to Wichita State in the conference playoffs ended their NCAA bid but a 20 win season still has them playing im March albeit the CIT. The Bears have issues when away from home as their 2-7 road mark in the MVC suggests with the scoring and defense improving on their own floor which needs to continue versus Murray State. It will be the Jarmar Gulley show offensively as the only DD scorer at 14 points with a score by committee approach otherwise.

Murray State wasn't the top 25 team we knew from a few years back but they have rebounded from a few slow seasons to once again become a major threat in the Ohio Valley. The Racers finished second with a 13-3 record before eventual postseason champion Eastern Kentucky dropped them in the league postseason. Scoring the basketball was not an issue at 77 points but the defense had their share of issues at 73 points allowed although the Racers showed ability at the defensive end. However, if points were need this team was up to the task with four double digit scores led by Cameron Payne and his 16 points.
I think these teams are about on par with one another when Missouri State is at home. I think Murray State can give them a game so I'll take the points...
