The Robert Morris Colonials visit the Curb Event Center to face the Belmont Bruins in round two of the NIT.

After suffering through a huge upset to Mount St. Mary's in the NEC title game, many wondered if Robert Morris could bounce back in their NIT opener at St. John's. It turns out that was a worry for the Red Storm who were pummeled 89-78 Tuesday. This one was never really close as RMU led 19-2 to open the game and 49-27 at the half. Karvel Andersen tossed in a career high 38 points on nine threes with the team tying the school record of 16 bombs. Luck Jones was next in line with 25 points, nine boards and five helpers with Anthony Myers-Pate dropping eleven points and posting eight assists. Overall the Colonials outshot St. John's 48%-37% and owned the foul line 19-4.

NIT Second Round Belmont Bruins vs. Robert Morris Colonials Pick-Odds-Prediction - 3/21/14

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Belmont and Green Bay were snubbed by the NCAA after winning their respective conferences during the regular season and losing in the postseason. Both appeared to have something to prove and the Bruins did in an 80-65 rout on Tuesday to move on to round two of the NIT. The vaunted GB defense was tagged for 49 first half points where they trailed by 12 and were never able to get back in it. The Phoenix hit shots at a hefty 51% but gave the ball away 21 times to give the 47.5% shooting Bruins 12 more looks and that combined with a 10-3 edge on threes carried the day. Craig Bradshaw led all scorers with 25 points with six yanks followed by Drew Windler with 15 points and seven pulls while JJ Mann and Spencer Turner combined for 20 points.

No line out but this will the Colonials defense going against the the Bruins scoring ability. Belmont will be favored but I can't say by how much because they were around 6-7 point dogs to Green Bay which was foolish and higher then I expected so please check back...
