A second round CIT tilt is scheduled for the Hart Center where the Holy Cross Crusaders host the Yale Bulldogs.
Yale played to their strength in a 69-68 decision over visiting Quinnipiac and that was not to get in a run and gun battle which they wouldn't win. Instead they kept the scoreboard manageable which is why they advanced to the CIT second round. Both teams connected in the 40% range with the Bulldogs going 10-24 from distance and mustering eight more shots and needing every one of them. The Bulldogs received 17 points from Javier Duren with Matt Townsend and Justin Sears tossing in 12 and eleven points while Jack Montague chipped in with nine.

There were three Patriot League teams invited to the various tournaments and the only one left standing is Holy Cross after they knocked Brown from the CIT with a 69-66 victory on Monday. The Crusaders led by eleven at the break and held off a late Bears rally with defense and competitive work on the backboards. The Crusaders didn't set the world on fire with 42% marksmanship but a 9-19 effort from long range combined with a defense that gave up 38% from the floor got the job done. Anthony Thompson led five DD scorers with 15 points with Eric Green next in line with 14 while the trio of Justin Burrell, Dave Dudzinski and Malcolm Miller netted ten points with the latter two snagging 15 boards.
I don't think there is a ton of difference between these teams and I have a feeling we see a repeat of the performance the Holy Cross-Brown match up. If true the points are the way to go...
