The Baylor Bears take the hardwood with the Creighton Bluejays with the winner heading to the Sweet 16.
Baylor didn't look fearsome until later in the season but they have been looking like a national threat in this stretch as a switch seemed to be flipped on. The Bears solid play continued in a 74-60 rout of Nebraska that was never in doubt with the Cornhuskers held to a mere 16 first half points. Nebraska actually held a slight shooting edge 42.6%-40.5% but this game was decided at the foul line where the Bears held a 38-10 advantage. Cory Jefferson led the scoring with 16 points and six yanks with Isaiah Austin added 13 points and seven boards followed Brady Heslip and Rico Gathers netted 12 and eleven points.

Creighton's big worry heading in to their first round bout with Louisiana-Lafayette was whether they could control the scoring of the Ragin' Cajuns. It turned out that ULL should have been the team that was worried with the Jays walking away with a 76-66 decision. Creighton dominated with 52% marksmanship including a 9-23 effort from beyond the arc with the defense holding the Ragin' Cajuns to only 38% which was game over. Leading scorer Doug McDermott was at the top of his game with a contest high 30 points and 12 rebounds followed by a 16 point, five yank and six assist effort from Austin Chatman while Ethan Wragge tossed in 12.
This has all the ingredients of a close game with plenty of clutch performers with McDermott being the best of the best. I think the Creighton star will get his points but I'll take the Bears and the points...
