The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks and UCLA Bruins will play Sunday night for a spot in the Sweet 16.
Stephen F. Austin made an incredible comeback to beat the VCU Rams in overtime. In the 77-75 upset win, the Lumberjacks shot 52.9 percent from the field and won the rebounding margin 35-29. On the season, Stephen F. Austin averages 75.9 points on 46.3 percent shooting and allows 63.4 points on 45.7 percent shooting. The Lumberjacks shoot a solid 70.9 percent from the free throw line 34.9 percent from three, but they average just 33.8 rebounds per game. Stephen F. Austin is a team that hasn’t lost a game since November, and doesn’t get rattled easily. UCLA is a young team that can be beaten when the three ball isn’t falling. With that said, I’ll take the Lumberjacks and the points.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Stephen F. Austin was this year’s Florida Gulf Coast and made a run towards the Sweet 16, and 8.5 points is more than enough for me to bite.
