The Florida State Seminoles were one of the final teams out in the NCAA Tournament and they are looking to do the next best thing in the NIT. FSU opened the NIT with a win over a feisty Florida Gulf Coast and then exploded for 101 points against Georgetown on Monday to advance to this game. Aaron Thomas is averaging 14.6 points per game to lead the Seminoles in scoring. Ian Miller is averaging 13.8 points, Okaro White is averaging 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds, and Devon Bookert is averaging 8.3 points. Florida State is averaging 70.9 points and they are shooting 46.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.2 points and their opponents are shooting 40.1 percent. Florida State is 11-5 at home this season and 7-12 against teams with a RPI better than 100.
Louisiana Tech is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread, 6-1 against the spread following a win, and 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games overall. Florida State is 4-1 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against Conference USA, and 4-10 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The total is set sky high but I still don’t see it being high enough for this one to stay under so my free pick is on the over.
I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
