The Line: Florida Gators -10 -- Over/Under: 133.5 See the Latest Odds
The Dayton Flyers and the Florida Gators face of on Saturday in Memphis in a NCAA Tournament Elite Eight battle with the winner going to the Final Four.
The Dayton Flyers weren’t expected to do much as one of the last teams to make the field for this year’s tournament but they have defied the odds as an underdog in each of their first three games landing just a win away from a trip to the Final Four in Dallas. Dayton opened the tourney with a win over Ohio State in a regional rivalry game them followed it up with wins over Syracuse and Stanford. The Flyers played a defensive style in their first two wins scoring 60 and 55 points but turned it up against Stanford pouring in 82. Jordan Sibert leads the Flyers averaging 12.5 points per game. Devin Oliver is averaging 11.9 points and 7.5 rebounds, Dyshawn Pierre is averaging 11 points and 5.6 rebounds, and Vee Sanford is averaging 9.7 points. For the season UD is averaging 72.8 points and they are shooting 46.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.1 points and their opponents are shooting 43.7 percent. Dayton finished in a tie for fifth place in the A-10 but they have looked as good as any team in the tournament this year.

The Florida Gators entered this year’s NCAA Tournament as the number one ranked team in the nation and the number one overall seed in the tournament and they haven’t shown anything that has made them look unworthy of those. Florida opened the tournament with a 12-point win over play in winner Albany and then smashed Pitt by 16 and handling UCLA by 11. Scottie Wilbekin is the SEC Player of the Year and does everything for the Gators averaging 13.1 points per game. Casey Prather is averaging 14 points and 4.9 rebounds, Michael Frazier II is averaging 12.7 points, and Patric Young is averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 rebounds. UF is averaging 70.6 points and they are shooting 46.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 57.8 points and their opponents shoot 39.9 percent. Florida has looked dominant and dialed in.
Florida is 7-2against the spread following a win, 5-1 against the spread following a cover, and 20-8 against the spread in their last 28 NCAA Tournament games. Dayton is 7-0 against he spread against the SEC, 5-1 against the spread following a win, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five NCAA Tournament games.
The total is at 133.5 and appears to be rising but look for points to be slow to come by and for this one to come in under and I like that with my free pick.
I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
