The #7 Connecticut Huskies and the #4 Michigan State Spartans look to advance to the Final Four.
After winning the opener in overtime versus St. Joseph's, Connecticut has been impressive in victories over Villanova and Iowas State in their Elite Eight match up. I still think the Huskies are playing with a chip on their shoulder as people are saying that St Joes gave them the game and the Cyclones were without Niang but a win is a win at this point. The offense was center stage in their 81-76 decision over Iowa State on Saturday as they built a ten point lead at the half behind 52% shooting while the Cyclones used 46% accuracy and 19 more looks to make things interesting before UConn's 22-6 edge at the stripe won it. DeAndre Daniels led the scoring with 27 points and ten yanks with Shabazz Napier added 19 while Ryan Boatright and Terrence Samuel netted 16 and ten points.

Michigan State is the choice of many to win the National Championship with their talented lineup that is finally playing at full strength. The Spartans needed every ounse of talent to squeeze by Virginia in the Elite Eight in their toughest test of the tournament thus far. The Spartans free throw shooting in the final minute secured a 61-59 decision over a Cavaliers club that simply would not go away. Poor shooting did the Cavs in at 35% but ten more looks at the basket kept them competitive with Michigan State who sank shots at a 44.7% pace. At the final buzzer UVA couldn't contain Branden Dawson who tossed in a game high 24 points and grabbed ten boards with Adeian Payne adding 16 points and five yanks.
Michigan State is proving how dangerous they are with a healthy team while Connecticut is simply winning with enough talent to go all the way in my view. Right or wrong I can't give the Huskies points but I will look further in to this in case I missed something...
