The Murray State Racers hope to hang the CIT Championship banner when they host Yale in the title game Thursday.
Yale and the Ivy League haven't received many accolades outside of Harvard so being in the CIT title game is a huge accomplishment. The defense first Bulldogs reached the tourney championship by stopping the nation's highest scoring team...on the road. The Bulldogs knocked off VMI 75-62 behind 47% shooting while limiting the Keydets to only 40%. A ten point lead at the half was never challenged with a balanced attack taking care of the scoreboard. Javier Duren led the scoring with 19 points, seven pulls and six helpers with Justin Sears adding 15 while Brandon Sherrod and Armani Cotton contributed 13 and 11 points and seven pulls apiece.

After scoring just 66 points in the CIT opener at Missouri State, the Racers offense has been in high gear with at least 85 points in three straight victories capped by Tueday's 98-75 rout of visiting Pacific in the semifinals. Murray State jumped to an eleven point lead heading to the locker room and were never in danger as they burned the nets with 55% marksmanship including a 13-25 mark from long range while also holding a 21-13 advantage at the charity stripe. The Tigers simply couldn't score with the home team with their 44% accuracy or compete with the Racers four DD scorers. Cameron Payne tossed in a game high 21 points and snagged seven boards with TJ Sapp and Jarvis Williams netting 18 points each followed Jeffery Moss with 15.
I see the match up being the scoring of Murray State against the defense of Yale. I generally side with defense but the Racers at home is the way I am looking...
