The Florida Gators take the hardwood with the surprising Connectcut Huskies in the Final Four.
Connecticut is probably the most unlikely participant in the Final Four but their ability to perform in the clutch has been second to none. The Huskies took down mighty Michigan State 60-54 in an Elite Eight match up because of defense and foul shooting to overcome their own shooting problems. The Spartans led the shooting battle 39%-34.7% and hit six more threes but they also gave the ball away 16 times to only six by UConn. The Huskies seemed to make a living at the line where they hit 21-22 to outscore MSU by 14 at the stripe. Shabazz Napier was the player of the game with 25 points and six yanks with DeAndre Daniels adding 13 points and eight boards followed by eleven points from Ryan Boatright.

Florida was the number one team overall in the tournament and have proven why with four wins to advance to the Final Four. The Gators bruising defense has led the way and was a significant factor in their 62-52 decision over Dayton in the Elite Eight. This appeared to be a rout in the making with UF up by 14 at the break but the offense stalled on 37.5% marksmanship. Fortunately the Flyers were limited to less then 40% from the field and the Gators 21-6 advantage at the charity stripe was decisive. Scottie Wilbekin led all scorers with 23 points on 6-14 from the floor followed by Patric Young with 12 points, six pulls and four blocks while Michael Frazier II chipped in with ten.
Connecticut has beaten the Gators so it's not impossible to do it again although the long season has told me Florida is better team. This is just to many points for me to give away right or wrong...
