The Miami Hurricanes and the Akron Zips face off on Friday in Charleston is a Semi-Final Tournament matchup.
The Miami Hurricanes moved to 3-0 this season by handling Drexel on Friday as they continue to look strong. Miami scored 66 points on Friday shooting 43.9 percent from the floor including 52.4 percent from beyond the three-point arc and burying 83.3 percent of their free throws. Angel Rodriguez scored 15 points and had four assists, Manu Lecomte ad 15 points, and Tonye Jekiri had eight points and 13 rebounds, and Omar Sherman had eight points and six rebounds. Miami is clearly a better team than many expected and may be looking at cracking the top 25 with a strong performance this tourney.

The Akron Zips went into Thursday’s game with USC as an underdog but they had no problem at all with the Trojans beating them by 20. Akron shot 40 percent from the floor including 29.6 percent from beyond the three-point arc while they held USC to 28.3 percent shooting and 16.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Pat Forsythe had 15 points and nine rebounds, Kwan Cheatham Jr. had 15 points and seven rebounds, and Noah Robotham scored 14 points. Akron got out ahead early on Thursday and never looked back.
Miami is 4-1 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, 3-1-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven neutral site games. Akron is 13-6-1 against the spread in their last 20 neutral site games, 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six non-conference games.
This looks like too many points and my play here is Akron to cover with the points.
