The Wofford Terriers and Fairfield Stags play Friday night at the Webster Bank Arena.
The Wofford Terriers split their first two games with a loss to Stanford and a win over Iona. On the season, Wofford is averaging 72.5 points on 49.5 percent shooting and is allowing 73.5 points on 50 percent shooting. Wofford has five different players averaging double digit points, including Karl Cochran who leads the way with 15.5 points and 4.5 assists. Wofford is one of the better shooting teams in the country early on, as Jaylen Allen is shooting 50 percent from downtown and Eric Garcia is averaging four assists. The Wofford Terriers are an experienced team that has enough on both ends of the court to compete for a Southern title. The one thing Wofford will have to improve is its defense, as allowing teams to shoot 50 percent from the field isn’t going to fly very long.

The Fairfield Stags split their first two games with a win over Central Connecticut State and a loss to Duke. On the season, Fairfield is averaging 65 points on 40.7 percent shooting and is allowing 86 points on 50.4 percent shooting. Marcus Gilbert leads Fairfield with 18 points on 50 percent shooting, and Coleman Johnson is averaging 14 points and five rebounds. Amadou Sidibe has been productive at both ends of the floor and is the Stags third player averaging double digits, while freshman Jerome Segura has shown flashes in limited playing time. The Fairfield Stags are hoping to take baby steps in the MAAC under head coach Sydney Johnson and have gotten off to a nice start. Remember, Fairfield only won seven games last season, so this program will take anything it can get.
The Terriers are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 road games and 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Stags are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Friday games.
While the Wofford Terriers have their fare share of defensive issues Fairfield isn't talented enough to expose them. Even on the road, the Terriers should win this matchup fairly easily.
