The IPFW Mastodons and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets play Friday night at the McCamish Pavilion.
The IPFW Mastodons have gotten off to a 2-0 start with wins over Manchester and SIU-Edwardsville. On the season, IPFW is averaging 74 points on 44.4 percent shooting and is allowing 71 points on 42.4 percent shooting. IPFW is led by Isaiah McCray, who is averaging 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, and Joe Edwards is averaging 13.5 points on 55.6 percent shooting. Steve Forbes and Joe Reed form one of the better frontcourts in the Summit and will have to have a big impact on this game. Mo Evans is averaging 11.5 points and Herbert Graham is shooting 50 percent from downtown. Overall, the IPFW Mastodons are expected to be one of the top teams in the Summit and will have a chance to prove it with a win in this big road matchup.

Demarco Cox is the third Georgia Tech player to average double-digit points and Marcus Georges-Hunt is averaging 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have some new players on the roster who can do some damage and have gotten off to better than expected start. It’s going to be interesting to see if the Yellow Jackets can keep up the solid play as the competition improves.
