The Iona Gaels are 1-1 this season after winning their opener and then losing to Wofford as part of the Tipoff Marathon. Iona is averaging 75.5 points per game shooting 47.4 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from beyond the three-point arc and they are allowing 79.5 points and their opponents shoot 47.5 percent. Wake Forest is 20-7 against the spread in their last 27 games following a loss of 20 or more points and 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 games overall. Iona is 4-1 against the spread following a loss, 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games against a team with a winning home record, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games.
The issue for me here is the Iona defense and while I would think hey can hang with Wake they won’t be able to make the stops when we need them.
