The Cornell Big Red and the Drexel Dragons face off on Sunday in Charlotte in college basketball tournament action.

Cornell is averaging 62.6 points and they are shooting 37.9 percent from the floor including 33.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc while defensively they are allowing 65.8 points and their opponents shoot 38.9 percent. Shonn Miller leads Cornell averaging 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds. Robert Hatter is averaging 12.6 points, Galal Cancer is averaging 12.2 points, and Devin Cherry is averaging 11.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. Cornell just isn’t draining the three’s the way the successful Cornell teams of the past have.

Drexel vs. Cornell - 11/23/14 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Drexel Dragons are still looking for their first win of the season but to their credit they have played a solid schedule. Before this tournament Drexel face Colorado and St. Joe’s then in Charlotte they were beat by Miami by 20 and lost to USC by two. Drexel is averaging 53.2 points and they are shooting 36 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 63.8 points and their opponents are shooting 42.9 percent. Damion Lee leads Drexel averaging 19 points and 5.5 rebounds, Tavon Allen is averaging 10.5 points, and Rodney Williams is averaging 7.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. Drexel should be well tested and prepped for CAA play.

Cornell is 5-0-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record and 1-7 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread. Drexel is 1-5 against the spread in their last six games, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games.

I like the schedule that Drexel has played and I see that giving them enough of an edge here that they get their first win and cover the spread as well.
