The Oregon Ducks and Michigan Wolverines play Monday night at the Barclays Center.
The Oregon Ducks are undefeated looking for that big win to put them on the map again. On the season, Oregon is averaging 89.3 points on 47.8 percent shooting and is allowing 66.3 points on 35 percent shooting. Joseph Young leads Oregon with 26 points and five assists while Elgin Cook is averaging 12.7 points and 6.3 rebounds. Dillon Brooks is the third Oregon player to average double-digit points and Jordan Bell leads the Ducks with nine rebounds. Like last season, the Oregon Ducks are a heavy offensive team that’s also shooting a cool 71.4 percent from downtown. However, Oregon’s defense has been impressive early on, holding teams less than seven percent shooting below the national average of 42.5 percent.

The Michigan Wolverines are also unbeaten but this will clearly be their first test. On the season, Michigan is averaging 74 points on 44.8 percent shooting and is allowing 57.5 points on 41.6 percent shooting. Zak Irvin leads Michigan with 20.7 points on 53.7 percent shooting and Derrick Walton Jr. is averaging 17.7 points and six rebounds. Caris LeVert is averaging 15.7 points and 7.7 rebounds while Spike Albrecht is dishing out four assists. Although the Michigan Wolverines are replacing a ton of talent, the offense is shooting a lights out 45.9 percent from downtown and 76.2 percent from the free throw line. When you combine that with just eight turnovers per game, Michigan is going to be tough to beat if it can keep this up throughout the season.
The Ducks are 21-6-1 ATS in their last 28 non-conference games and 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Wolverines are 4-1-2 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
All the Oregon Ducks do is win games they probably shouldn't or compete with teams they shouldn't. Look at that ATS record. I'm taking Oregon and the free points here.
