The Line: Boise State Broncos -16 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Idaho Vandals and Boise State Broncos square off Tuesday night at the CenturyLink Arena.
The Idaho Vandals play their second straight road game as they’re 2-1 on the season. Idaho is averaging 74.5 points on 43.1 percent shooting and is allowing 77.5 points on 48.6 percent shooting. Mike Scott leads Idaho with 15.7 points and 4.3 assists while Sekou Wiggs is averaging 15 points on 53.6 percent shooting. Arkadiy Mkrtychyan is Idaho’s third player averaging double-digit points and Bira Seck is grabbing 10.3 rebounds. What’s impressive is that the Idaho Vandals are winning games without Connor Hill even doing much on the offensive side of the ball. The bad news for Idaho is that the defensive effort could still be improved, as teams are shooting 36.8 percent from three against them. Still, Idaho can compete with most teams on the offensive end.

The 3-1 Boise State Broncos hope to refocus after getting beat up by the Wisconsin Badgers. On the season, Boise State is averaging 71 points on 42.1 percent shooting and is allowing 72.2 points on 46.3 percent shooting. Anthony Drmic leads Boise State with 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds while Mikey Thompson is averaging 11.5 points on 50 percent shooting. Derrick Marks is dishing out 3.3 assists and Nick Duncan is shooting 45.5 percent from downtown. The Boise State Broncos are still that offensive juggernaut they were a season ago, shooting 39.7 percent from three and having seven players averaging at least five points per game. However, Boise State is averaging less than 32 rebounds per game and has allowed 70-plus points twice in its first four games.
The Vandals are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 non-conference games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Broncos are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Vandals are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Boise State and 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings overall.
Asking Boise State to cover a large number is a little difficult considering it's a team that struggles on the defensive end. Idaho can do its far share of scoring and should be able to keep this thing closer than the line suggests.
