The Saint Peter’s Peacocks and Rutgers Scarlet Knights play Tuesday night at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.
The Saint Peter’s Peacocks have yet to win a game and will continue to struggle as long as Desi Washington is out with a wrist injury. On the season, Saint Peter’s is averaging 54.2 points on 37.7 percent shooting and is allowing 60.2 points on 39 percent shooting. Marvin Dominique leads Saint Peter’s with 14.3 points and 11 rebounds while Chazz Patterson is averaging 7.5 points on 27.3 percent shooting. Tyler Gaskins is shooting 34.4 percent from the field and Trevis Wyche leads the Peacocks with 2.3 assists. The Saint Peter’s Peacocks are a mess offensively, shooting just 23.9 percent from three, less than 66 percent from the free throw line and coming off a game where they scored just 50 points. Defense keeps Saint Peter’s competitive but it’s tough when nobody can put the ball in the hoop.
USA TODAY Sports
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have won two straight and will play their third straight home game. On the season, Rutgers is averaging 63.3 points on 39.9 percent shooting and allowing 62.3 points on 38.9 percent shooting. Myles Mack leads Rutgers with 16 points and 3.7 assists while Kadeem Jack is averaging 13 points and five rebounds. Bishop Daniels is Rutgers third-leading scorer with 8.7 points and D.J. Foreman is shooting 76.9 percent from the field. It’s going to be a process for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in their new conference and playing tougher competition but the improved play defensively and the 38.7 rebounds per game should help keep this team in many games. Rutgers now just needs to find a few guys who can put the ball in the hoop consistently.
The Peacocks are 22-45-2 ATS in their last 69 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games. The Scarlet Knights are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 Tuesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.
St. Peter's is an absolute mess without Washington on the floor. At home, Rutgers should win this game rather easily.
