The Line: North Carolina State Wolfpack -3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Richmond Spiders and North Carolina State Wolfpack play Wednesday night at the PNC Arena.
The Richmond Spiders have won two of their first three games and are looking for their first road win. On the season, Richmond is averaging 67 points on 51.4 percent shooting and is allowing 55 points on 38.1 percent shooting. Kendall Anthony leads Richmond with 16 points on 50 percent shooting and T.J. Cline is averaging 12.3 points on 76.2 percent shooting. Alonzo Nelson-Ododa is the third Richmond player to average double-digit points and ShawnDre' Jones leads the way with 3.3 assists. The Richmond Spiders have been flat out terrific on the defensive side of the ball but their average of 28.3 rebounds has to be a major red flag. Richmond has very little size and will have to be better on the boards if they’re going to compete in the competitive Atlantic 10.
USA TODAY Sports
The North Carolina State Wolfpack are off to a 4-0 start and are looking for that statement win here. On the season, NC State is averaging 79 points on 42.3 percent shooting and are allowing 57.5 points on 32.1 percent shooting. Trevor Lacey leads North Carolina State with 16 points on 44.4 percent shooting and Anthony Barber is averaging 14.8 points and 3.8 assists. Ralston Turner is the third NC State player averaging double-digit points and Lennard Freeman is grabbing 9.5 rebounds in limited playing time. The North Carolina State Wolfpack are going to be a tough to beat as long as they continue to grab 49 rebounds per game and block more than eight shots. However, NC State must improve its 65.3 percent from the free throw line in order to take that next step.
The Spiders are 8-18-2 ATS in their last 28 non-conference games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wolfpack are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
The difference in this game will be inside the paint. Richmond won't be able to handle the size of North Carolina State. Give me the Wolfpack and the small chalk.
