The Line: Rider Broncs -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Rider Broncs and Michigan State Spartans play Thanksgiving night at the HP Field House.
The Rider Broncs have split their first four games and are coming off a 27-point loss to Kansas. On the season, Rider is averaging 67.2 points on 46.1 percent shooting and is allowing 70.5 points on 49 percent shooting. Teddy Okereafor leads Rider with 14.3 points on 48.7 percent shooting and Zedric Sadler averages 11.8 points on 53.1 percent shooting. Kahlil Thomas leads Rider with five rebounds and Jimmie Taylor is the third-leading scorer with 9.5 points. The Rider Broncs have gotten off to a solid start on the offensive side of the ball but their weakness is the fact they’re averaging just 28.3 rebounds per game. it’s going to be tough for Rider to win many game this season being one of the worst rebounding teams in the country regardless of how well it may shoot.
USA TODAY Sports
The Michigan State Spartans have bounced back with two straight wins since the loss to Duke. On the season, Michigan State is averaging 75.2 points on 50.8 percent shooting and is allowing 61 points on 38.9 percent shooting. Travis Trice leads MSU with 18 points and seven assists while Branden Dawson is averaging 15 points and eight rebounds. However, Dawson is questionable with an illness. Denzel Valentine is averaging 5.5 assists and Marvin Clark Jr. is shooting 63.6 percent from downtown. The Michigan State Spartans have looked sharp on both sides of the ball and will only get better as the season goes on. However, MSU must improve its 54 percent shooting from the free throw line if its going to make another deep run in the NCAA tournament.
The Broncs are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games. The Spartans are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games.
Michigan State is too talented at both ends of the floor for Rider to hang in this game. Give me the Spartans and the chalk.
