The San Diego Toreros and Xavier Musketeers play Thanksgiving afternoon at the Titan Gym.
The San Diego Toreros have won three straight and are cruising offensively. On the season, San Diego is averaging 72.8 points on 48.7 percent shooting and is allowing 62 points on 41.5 percent shooting. Johnny Dee leads San Diego with 20.5 points on 47.1 percent shooting and Christopher Anderson is averaging 10.3 points and nine assists. Thomas Jacobs is the third San Diego player to average double-digit points and Brett Bailey is grabbing 4.8 rebounds in limited playing time. The San Diego Toreros are an experienced team that is somewhat top heavy and relies heavily on Dee to show up every night. And while San Diego isn’t the biggest team in the country, averaging 35.5 rebounds per game is a lot better than expected and is good enough to keep the Toreros in games.

The Xavier Musketeers are undefeated and also shooting lights out of the gym. On the season, Xavier is averaging 90 points on 55.3 percent shooting and is allowing 64.8 points on 42.4 percent shooting. Trevon Bluiett leads Xavier with 18.3 points on 65 percent shooting and Matt Stainbrook is averaging 17 points and 7.5 rebounds. Jalen Reynolds is averaging 7.5 rebounds and Dee Davis is dishing out 7.3 assists. The Xavier Musketeers were expected to be a contender in the Big East and have proven to just that early on. Xavier is shooting 37 percent from downtown, is first in the country in assists and is averaging nearly five blocks at the other end. Watch out for this basketball team if things keep up. Edmond Summer is expected to be ready for this game despite a knee injury.
The Toreros are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Musketeers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games.
Both of these teams are playing well and the San Diego Toreros may be one of the more underrated teams in the entire country. With the way both teams are shooting, this comes off a toss-up game to me. Give me San Diego and the points.
